Carla Fair-Wright is an experienced project management consultant and international speaker on project leadership. She has over twenty years of experience in Software Engineering and Project Management, working in both consulting and major corporate roles. She is currently leading the implementation of a multi-million dollar phased effort to modernize and migrate the information technology system for the State of Nevada’s Department of Public Safety into a cloud computing environment. Before moving to Nevada, Carla was an IT Project Manager for Chevron working on projects both globally and nationally. Prior to Chevron, Carla was the technical design authority at Cameron-Schlumberger for their computerized maintenance management system used in the maintenance planning for large industrial engines and compressors.

Carla has been a presenter at numerous chapters of the Project Management Institute (PMI) including three global PMI Congress sessions. Her most recently conducted lectures on Blockchain technology were at PMI Austin in 2021, the 2020 PMI Houston conference, and the 2019 International Institute for Learning (IIL). She was featured in the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) magazine and has appeared on PMI Podcast. She is a chapter author in two books, Encyclopedia of Energy Engineering and Web-Based Energy Control Systems.

A member of the Society of Women Engineers since 2007, Carla is the past President of the Society of Women Engineers (Houston) and a recipient of the 2014 Regional Emerging Leader award. She was twice awarded Cameron’s Technical Publication and Presentation Award for her published books and conference presentations.
